Klaudia Błach Morysińska from our law firm had the honour of participating in a bilateral meeting between ECTA and the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) at the EUIPO headquarters in Alicante. During the meeting, important issues related to intellectual property rights in the European Union were discussed.
The discussion covered a number of important issues in the field of intellectual and industrial property rights. Among the topics discussed were the newly conferred competences and responsibilities of the EUIPO, updates on the Geographical Indications reforms, issues of support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and concerns about abuses of the intellectual property system. In addition, discussions covered procedural issues such as representation before the Office and recent court rulings, among others.
