Klaudia Błach-Morysińska from our Law Firm took part in a bilateral meeting between ECTA and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), held at the EUIPO headquarters in Alicante.
The meeting addressed a range of important topics related to intellectual property rights in the European Union, including:
• newly assigned competences and responsibilities of the EUIPO,
• developments in the reform of geographical indications,
• support measures for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs),
• concerns regarding abuse of the IP system,
• procedural issues such as representation before the Office,
• and recent court rulings impacting IP practice.
The event served as a relevant platform for discussing current challenges and future directions for the IP framework within the EU.
