ECTA representatives met with the European Commission (DG AGRI and DG GROW) in Brussels to discuss key developments in intellectual property law. The discussions covered, among others, reforms relating to designs, patents and non-agricultural geographical indications, as well as updates on IP enforcement and the evaluation of the EUTMR and IPRED frameworks.
Further topics included IP valuation, support for SMEs, and issues at the intersection of domain names and geographical indications, including their use in labelling and advertising. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on ongoing legislative initiatives and projects carried out within ECTA committees.
Klaudia Błach-Morysińska, serving as Treasurer of ECTA, participated in the meeting. This engagement reflects the firm’s active involvement in shaping IP policy and contributing to regulatory developments at the European level.
