On September 8, 2021, Konfedercja Lewiatan (an influential Polish business organization representing the interests of employers in Poland and the European Union) organized the event “Intellectual Property Courts one year after their inception – evaluation and possible further development directions”. The meeting was attended by representatives of entrepreneurs, practitioners and representatives of public administration as well as Paweł Poznański from our law firm, who presented his statistical statement “Intellectual property (IP) courts in numbers”. The participants made an attempt to evaluate the consideration of cases by specialized courts. Moreover, the participants discussed possible modifications in the area of court activity that could improve and positively affect their functioning.
The year is not a long period of time, therefore it is impossible to draw any far-reaching conclusions from what has occurred so far in intellectual property departments. However, on the other hand, this is concrete data that could be some indication of how the Intellectual Property Courts will function in the near future.
